Norton Black Ice Waterproof Sheets – light-weight waterproof paper sanding sheets produce the ultimate surface finishes in ultra fine grit wet applications. Full size (9" x 11") and cut paper sheets are used for both metalworking and woodworking applications. Packed in protective dispensers to eliminate waste and permit easy, neat storage. Typical applications include light-duty metal sanding, primer sanding, defect removal from painted surfaces, filler sanding, sanding and finishing of composites and fiberglass, bare wood sanding, and sanding between sealer coats. Paper sheets are typicallly used hand or jitterbug sanding.

Black Ice Waterproof Sheets (grits 1000-2500 only) are being upgraded to an enhanced design which does NOT require extended soaking prior to use. You can simply spritz it with water, "dunk and go" or let it soak. It works great with all methods. Extensive testing has shown the product to provide an equal cut rate and better surface finish than competitive product. The curl resistance is much better than competitive products when wet, and virtually eliminates the curl entirely, so the new Black Ice design stays flat. In addition, when used dry, the new design is much more flexible and resists cracking. Just like the current design, T401 has an anti-slip agent on the backing to provide good handling characteristics for the user. A substantial amount of money went into the R&D to address the composite market needs for a world-class waterproof sheet and the results are impressive.
